Create opportunities to be seen with the big players in your office. If the powers that be are walking down the hall, start walking with them (even if you're not going their way). Say in a loud, clear voice, 'Hi, you guys!' If they laugh, you laugh. If they stop, you stop. If they run, you run, too. When people see you hanging with the big shots, they'll think you're a big shot, too."
